Tom & Krista

Tom & Krista are two of the most kind hearted and down to earth people I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. All week the forecast showed nothing but blue skies and some clouds so no need to worry, right? Within 30 minutes of me arriving to their hotel room, a storm came passing through Camden Harbor. Talk about torrential rainfall. It actually was kind of neat to watch but of course it was putting a damper on Krista and Tom’s ceremony plans of saying ” I DO ” on the roof at 16 Bay View. As they watched the rain pour, you couldn’t tell they were worried at all. They both stayed very optimistic, because either way, they knew they were getting married that day! Well, the rain passed, and they were able to stick to their original plan and time. What a perfect day it ended up being for them.
At their ceremony, their friend Christian was the officiant and he spoke so beautifully about the both of them. He stated that when he spoke to each of them separately when creating their ceremony, their eyes filled with excitement when they thought about one another and their wedding day. He spoke of how love grows and blooms, like when planting a garden with special soil. But for Krista and Tom he joked that their love is like the The Lord of the Rings.
Science out of all things is what brought Krista and Tom together. Tom is an engineer and when he met Krista, he told her if he could be anything else, it would be a science teacher. Krista herself is a middle school science teacher. Their first date took place at the movies, where they saw Gravity together. As Christian stated, that is what started their little science love garden.
In 2020, Tom proposed to Krista on Valentine’s Day. Which happened to be one of the most brutally cold days thats year. Tom played her favorite band on the radio for her, they drove to the beach, braved the cold, and Tom asked Krista to be his forever lab mate. She of course said, yes! They spent the rest of 2020 quarantining together during covid which brought them even closer together.
Christian ended the ceremony with a perfect quote by Albert Einstein, “Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love.”
The Love you have is a force you created in the world you formed together.
After Tom and Krista said ” I DO” we all hopped in my car and I took them around Camden to several pretty spots to take some pretty incredible photos! They were so down for any of my ideas and even had their own ideas! They are both full of adventure and love that is for sure!
I was so honored to share in this day with them. They brought along their beautiful families and together they celebrated on the roof at 16 Bay View overlooking the breathtaking view of Camden Harbor.
