MEET YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

Hey! I'm Rachel, and I'm so excited for you!

I’m a photographer located in Knox County, Maine, photographing seniors from all around the state. This is such an exciting time in your life, and I love making my senior clients feel amazing in their photographs!

When I’m not photographing seniors and couples, you’ll likely find me at the beach, cuddling with my three pups, visiting new restaurants with my hubby, hiking, or going on adventures with my daughter and husband around our gorgeous state of Maine.

The Rustic look and barns have been the new craze the past few years! This location has a little bit of everything including a beautiful field, greenery and sunset! Perfect for anyone who adores natural elements or has a little bit of country in them. In the fall, you can expect the gorgeous foliage and a nearby blueberry field!!

Beach sessions are perfect for anyone who spends as much time as possible on the coast. They love the sun, the wind and the sand. Always a favorite for anyone who loves the salty wind in their hair and waves crashing on their feet!

The City Session

The urban city look is the perfect location for anyone looking for pops of color! With the unique look of industrial buildings, greenery, streetlights, and brick walls! There are unlimited options for us. Maybe we can even find a candy or ice cream shop too!

Show Your Style

There’s a good chance that you’ve been dreaming of this photoshoot for years, so don’t wait until the night before to choose your outfits! Start planning early to avoid any last minute stress. Bring clothing and accessories that both define who you are, but that also coordinate with the loacation that you have chosen. If you need help with styling, bring some extra options and I would love to help you complete your look! We also will plan together beforehand as well using pinterest or other inspirational boards!

A bit of advice - wear something that you feel amazing in, but also include your go-to favorite items from your closet. Remain loyal to your style must-have’s and you will feel comfortable and more relaxed in your images as a result!

The small details are the best part of styling a session. Whether you’re simple or adding on the layers, everyone needs to add some interest into their images. I suggest keeping outfits simple and using accessories to create the statement. A bold necklace, large earrings, but never both together. A headband or floral headpiece can be cute for some photos too! Less is more and you don’t want to distract from your face being the focus of the image. However, think in layers. You can get more variety in your images if you add items to some images, and remove them for others. Pieces such as hats, cardigans, jackets, or scarves are a great way to turn one outfit into two. Don’t forget to pack the little items, like strapless bras, bralettes, sticky bras, hairspray, a comb, bobbypins, and any makeup for touch-ups (lip gloss, powder, etc.)

Don’t stress or be nervous - your images are going to be amazing! The more that you relax and trust me to capture you and your spirit, then the more I can guarantee that you will love your images! I want to see the best version of you, and for you to discover how beautiful you truly are! As you are preparing, consider a few more beauty tips to help bring out your best. The details will appear in your photos, so prepare the best you can. Think ahead, such as getting your nails done, hair highlighted, steaming your clothing, tidying up your eyebrows, and of course getting some rest! These are merely suggestions, but the rest is required! I also suggest that you have a light snack before your shoot! It will give you some energy and prevent you from getting hangry! Have a big meal after your session to celebrate and while you wait for your sneak peek to be posted!!

Day Of Your Session

On the day of your session, you will arrive at the salon roughly 2 hours before your session to get all pampered and feeling beautiful for your photo shoot! We will chat plenty beforehand to to discuss hair and makeup ideas. Your stylist will recommend a certain style and look for you depending on your location. After your pampering is all set, I’ll meet you after at the location you chose and we will be ready to rock and roll! Be sure to bring someone with you who can share this experience with you! Preferably your mom, bff, or whoever you feel comfortable sharing this with! It’s always nice to have someone there to help make you feel comfortable and help us giggle together! I’ve even had a few friends come along and play music for us!

Delivering Your Photos

The Editing Process

I proudly offer the highest quality of print products sold a la carte, or I have made print packages to make the decision making process easy for everyone. I will have samples of my products as well. You will also recieve digital images from your online gallery where you can download right from your own device! Images are saved as high resolution JPEG files, along with a print release. This all depends on the collection you choose though! The benefit of your investment is having the gallery so you can have unlimited access to your images for the rest of your life!

Each individual photo is edited with the greatest attention paid to detail and image quality. If needed, skin tones and lighting are improved, distractions removed, blemishes removed, and photos are cropped and straightened. You will also receive a few a black and white duplicates of a few select images from your gallery.

Booking Your Senior Portrait Session

Once you’re ready to book, send me an e-mail! This is faster than over the phone, as the entire process is through the web (but I’d love to chat if you have any questions!) You will be sent a contract and will have 24 hours to sign it. Your parents MUST sign the contract. Once the contract is signed, I’ll sign it and send it back! That is when we can start the really fun stuff! Share with me your pinterest boards or other inspirations by emailing me and we can choose the perfect outfits, accessories, and hair and makeup ideas! I’ll send you all the info you need to prepare for the big day! By paying for your session it secures your spot and pays for Rachel’s time + expertise. There are NO refunds if you choose to cancel your session, especially due to not reading the contract.

Payments

Your session fee is due at booking and is non refundable. Your hair and makeup fees are due on the date of your session, to your stylist directly. Gratuity is not included! If you forget your checkbook, credit card, or cash - we’ll have to postpone your session based on availability. Your ordering session will take place within 30 days of your photo session. Your full order is due at your ordering session, paid in full. Payment plans can be made, but you

will not receive your products until the full payment has been made.
