The moment I met Lindsey and John, I felt like I had known them my entire life. That’s how likable and welcoming they are. We all share a love for dogs, adventure and endless laughing. I met these two love birds in 2020 when I traveled to John’s family’s lake house on Ossipee Lake in New Hampshire to capture their engagement photos. We all clicked right away and we had so much fun getting to know each other. The night consisted of constant giggling, snugging with their adorable pup, Pickles, and jumping in the lake at the end. It had a true Dirty Dancing vibe for sure. Since that night I couldn’t wait to see them again and capture their wedding day!
Lindsey and John met five years ago at a mutual friend’s house during a super bowl party and the rest is history. They have already built a beautiful life together by adopting their sweet pup and buying their first home! They also survived 2020 by refinishing their kitchen, Lindsey finding a new passion in the baking industry, maintaining their health, planning their 2021 wedding and of course surviving quarantining together during the pandemic (haha).
Fast forward to their wedding day and I was completely blown away by the DETAILS. Lindsey did not mess around with making sure every little detail was perfect. The calligraphy, the colors, the florals, the signs were all matched and beautifully. They made their own gifts personalized to each guest as well (including me!). They even had the most beautiful koozies with of course a dog that looked like Pickles!
What a beautiful venue they chose! The Barn at Beech Hill is stunning and it overlooks the Camden Hills. We were blessed with a beautiful day and only a couple sprinkles of rain, for good luck of course! Everything was right on site which made everything so easy for the bride and groom! Their guests were shuttled in from local hotels and escorted right down to the ceremony location. The cocktail hour was held in a secondary barn with corn hole and a photo booth for the guests to enjoy.
I was able to capture so many special moments throughout the day. Lindsey and John chose to have a first look and share private vows with each other. From there we took several photos with the mountains behind them and with a special guest. The owner of the venue, Gwen allowed us to use Stewart the horse as well. Lindsey has a huge love for all animals and this was a must have for her! After their first look, I captured a first look with Lindsey and her father which was so special and very emotional for them both. What a bond they share together! They had a beautiful and hilarious bridal party and they were ready to party and celebrate Lindsey & John! You could tell they would do anything for them, they share such beautiful friendships with each of them!
Lindsey has a thing for Fleetwood Mac, more specifically Stevie Nicks. Her dress even had layers that gave her the Stevie Nicks vibe. She walked down the aisle to one of my personal favorite songs, “Songbird” by Fleetwood Mac. We had a little bit of rain during the ceremony, but it didn’t stop anyone from witnessing this special moment. Lindsey’s brother was the officiant and you could tell how special it was to have him performing the services. After the ceremony, we captured the rest of their photos near their ceremony site with a stunning rock wall. Then it was time for them to greet their guests and enjoy their cocktail hour! The reception was held in the barn and Lindsey and John danced to their song ” A Million Dreams” by Pink and John surprised Lindsey with some pretty cool dance moves. The parent dances were so special and more so, Lindsey and her dad surprised everyone with a pretty epic dance off. I ended my night by capturing the cake cutting. Their cake was made by their friend, Shannon and it was beautiful and delicious! Their dessert table was full of cookies, donuts and cupcakes for their guests! I think it’s safe to say that Lindsey and John couldn’t wait to get married but they couldn’t wait to celebrate it all with their family and friends. They exude adventure and happiness and that’s exactly what their wedding was all about. Thank you for letting me part of your lives and for the honor of letting me capturing your wedding day! xoxo
